There are few who have explored the Darwa- Bamsaru area.

I always hire an agency who not only supply the required qualification of guides but also take responsibility of managing the porters. So I may not beof help to provide numbers of idividual porters or guides.

However if u require the name of the agency please do mail me. Lemme remind u here that agency charges are usually about 30-40% higher than what u wd get for organising the whole team urselfHim-Pathikhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01898524845912798206noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5294633494171765004.post-5470506905234798922013-05-05T19:07:11.160+05:302013-05-05T19:07:11.160+05:30it was an excellent narration of the journey....ju...it was an excellent narration of the journey....just loved it..now can anyone provide me with phone number of any guide or porter for this trek..is the trek feasible in September middle or end...any light on that..?? thanks in advance
--Kaustavkaustav bagchihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01444883527185759008noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5294633494171765004.post-80526472064119131542012-04-25T12:58:48.970+05:302012-04-25T12:58:48.970+05:30Nice pics and travelogue!

Purely from a literary perspective some of things that I loved;
1. Strong beginning and ending. Sets up the narrative beautifully and closes with a very well-written paragraph describing the entire trek. (Good signing off line, btw!)
2. Loved the description of rains in the Himalayas at the beginning.
3. This blog stands out from the rest because of the diverse character sketches which come through so clearly- Ajay, Krishnan & you, and this is done with an economy of words. Makes a reader relate to the central players in this drama. Maybe you could have added similar introductions to Chandan/Jaisingh- not too many though.
4. Nice nuggets in between like the leeches description, the story of Ganesha, the medicine-man episode, etc. You have always tried to pepper your narratives with these bits, but I think the sharper quality of writing made the difference. (Btw, the medicine man story inspires so many ideas for different projects...)
5. And of course your staple- beautiful pictures and odes to Mother Nature and the mighty Himalayas (Hv become a basic expectation now. :-))
I still have my usual observations on grammatical errors, flow from one event to another and the need for expounding upon or editing certain parts. But this is not the time to be critical. I shall let you savour the adulation! :-)
Overall- a delicious piece of prose. Let it flow...Cheers!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5294633494171765004.post-34036933782311441402008-02-16T03:34:00.000+05:302008-02-16T03:34:00.000+05:30Hi Saibal and PremOnly an aspiring writer would ev...Hi Saibal and Prem

Only an aspiring writer would ever feel what I feel when I read such generous words lavished upon me!! And boy, I am so glad it did.

It must be the most fantastic anecdote I have ever read about one's journey. Your narration is definitely in the manner which urges readers to keep on reading further.I wish that some day you definitely would be able to publish your travel memoirs, and in fact that is what you are doing here right now, and I appreciate you for that.

Your writing and the way of detailing shows
you are an avid trekkers. I wish you have lots of trip ahead and best of the times.
keep trekking....
wishes,
-premPrem Arorahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09729758262812958648noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5294633494171765004.post-40321578927186969252008-02-14T11:27:00.000+05:302008-02-14T11:27:00.000+05:30Dear Ashu,I read this one twice on yesterday and a...Dear Ashu,
I read this one twice on yesterday and a day before, and again today, just before commenting...
As usual it reflects a dramatic flow of trekking experiences matched with some brilliant photographs...I always love the way you entwine the presentation with fine threads of climax and anti-climax that the situate in both reality and its sweet remembrances....
In this article, the narration starts with a lovely Dickensian style, displays articulation of Hardy while describing pastoral beauty of Dodital and Hunumanganga valleys and concludes with a touch of Maugham's resilience in accepting the life to where it finally settles ( or should..perhaps..)...
In other way, this is more than a travelogue ! Hats off to you, dear friend !
Since a few months back, I have been seriously considering to launch a titled blog journal for the Indian trekkers..I mean to include ( definitely on expressed willingness of the authors ) travelogues (surely literary travel writings too) in such journal with adequate tags and links so one can consult the archives for own planning...I could not float the idea for being much of work pressure..maybe, I shall have some recess to finalise the plan..
How do you feel ?
Again, thanks for sharing a brilliant piece of travelogue (that too relating to a really non-descript trail in the Himalayas ) with us, friend !
Have a great going in life..
My best wishes,
SaibalAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
